AirAsia opens HCM City-Phuket direct route

AirAsia, a leading regional budget carrier, announced on Nov. 6 that it will start direct daily flights between HCM City to the world-acclaimed tourist destination of Phuket in Thailand.

Aside from itsexisting flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur andJakarta, the new route will expand customers’ options while maintaininggood service at low cost, said Thai AirAsia Managing General DirectorTassapon Bijleveld.

It will also help customers connect to other regional touristdestinations such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Medan,he added.

He said that with its cheap prices and extensive network, Air Asiabelieves that it will attract more tourists, thus boosting tourism andeconomic development in the region./.
