Hanoi (VNA) – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) andthe World Bank (WB) have decided to use the Vietnam National E-ProcurementSystem (VNEPS) to conduct online bidding for construction and goods supplycontracts for their projects.
The move aims to improve the competitiveness, effectivenessand transparency of project procurement.
Initially, the ADB, the WB and relevant agenciesplan to carry out online bidding for 15 procurement packages worth more than 71million USD in projects funded by the two banks. Detailed information aboutthese packages will be published on http://muasamcong.mpi.gov.vn.
Bid invitation documents will be publicised bythe VNEPS and bidders will compile and submit their bid dossiers online.
Earlier, thanks to coordination between thePublic Procurement Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment and thetwo banks, modules for online bidding for these packages were built andintegrated into the VNEPS on January 1 this year.
The VNEPS, run by the national e-procurementcentre, was put into operation nationwide in 2016.-VNA
