Hanoi (VNA) – An A320 CEO Sharklet airplane touched down at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City on July 15, ready to make its maiden commercial flight in Vietnam as part of Jetstar Pacific’s fleet.
It is the first of the four A320s that the Vietnamese low-cost carrier will receive from the European aviation giant Airbus by the end of this year.
Jetstar Pacific CEO Le Hong Ha said the plane flew from Toulouse in France to Tan Son Nhat airport.
Under an agreement announced at the Farnborough Airshow 2016 in the UK, Jetstar Pacific will purchase ten A320 CEO Sharklet planes in 2017 as part of its route network expansion plan.
The A320 CEO Sharklet is the latest version in the Airbus A320 family and features the widest single-aisle fuselage on the market.
The carrier, a member of the Jetstar Group, current operates flights to 19 domestic and international destinations. It plans to have a fleet of 18 A320s and A321s this year and 30 A320s by 2020.-VNA
