80 outstanding students presented with Japan’s scholarships

Eighty Vietnamese outstanding students in the 2014-2015 academic year were each granted scholarships worth 300 USD from the Japanese FUYO Foundation at the 17 th FUYO scholarship awarding ceremony held in Hanoi on April 21.
Eighty Vietnamese outstanding students in the 2014-2015 academic yearwere each granted scholarships worth 300 USD from the Japanese FUYOFoundation at the 17 th FUYO scholarship awarding ceremony held inHanoi on April 21.

The FUYO Foundation is an annual scholarship fund for Vietnamese students with outstanding academic performance.

Since its establishment in 1997, the foundation has awarded a total of292,000 USD in scholarships to 1,190 students nationwide.

In thepast few years, the Japanese government has made significantcontributions to education in Vietnam through creating opportunities forVietnamese students to pursue master degrees, PhDs and apprentices inthe social sciences, natural science, engineering and economics.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
