HCM City (VNA) - The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) held a ceremony to welcome the 600,000 th safe flight in 2015 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on December 8.

At the event, VATM’s Director General Pham Viet Dung said the company has completed all of the goals targeted for the year.

The VATM’s 600,000 safe flights since the beginning of this year showed an 18 percent rise from last year.

The company has gained an estimated revenue of 3.67 trillion VND (163 million USD), including a gross profit of 589 billion VND (26 million USD), and contributed nearly 1.93 trillion VND (85 million USD) to the state budget.

Since its establishment in 1993, the VATM has conducted over 6,148 million safe flights and contributed more than 1.573 billion USD to the budget.

Currently, the air traffic control staff has met the level-4 English standard in accordance with the regulations under the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), he added.

The VATM is applying air traffic services over an airspace of over 1.2 million square kilometers and for 22 domestic air routes and 34 international air routes and nearly 150 foreign carriers.-VNA
