Some 6,000 young doctors will join hands to provide free-of-charge health check-ups and medicines for people in 63 cities and provinces from May 12-19.

Hanoi (VNA) – Some 6,000 young doctors willjoin hands to provide free-of-charge health check-ups and medicines for peoplein 63 cities and provinces from May 12-19.

These activities are included in the annual festivalof young doctors held by the Vietnam Youth Federation and the Association ofVietnam’s Young Doctors, heard a press conference in Hanoi on May 7.

Besides, the doctors will conduct free eyeoperations for the elderly and surgeries for children with congenitalabnormalities, provide first-aid training for teachers and present gifts toneedy people and water filters to pre-schools in disadvantaged areas.

The organisation board is expected to collect 13,000units of blood during the festival.

A national ceremony is scheduled to be held at theQuang Trung Museum in Tay Son district, the central province of Binh Dinh onMay 19.

The festival, the tenth of its kind, is hoped tobenefit nearly 200,000 people across the country. -VNA
