As many as 32 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) and international organisations have confirmed that they will attend the 14th Assembly of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) slated for September 19-22 in Hanoi.

Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 32 Supreme AuditInstitutions (SAIs) and international organisations have confirmed that theywill attend the 14th Assembly of the Asian Organisation of Supreme AuditInstitutions (ASOSAI) slated for September 19-22 in Hanoi.

The figure was revealed by Deputy General Auditor of VietnamDoan Xuan Tien during a meeting on July 18 of the Steering Committee taskedwith organising the assembly.

Tien said the organising board has approved a list of guestsfor the event, including 76 foreign and 128 domestic delegations.

One of the event’s highlights will be the seventh thematicconference on environmental audit for sustainable development, reflecting ASOSAI’scommitments to dealing with global environment challenges and pursuing commonsustainable development goals in particular.

The Hanoi Declaration will also be issued at the end of theevent, reviewing the most important working results and highlighting ASOSAI’scommitments to development goals for the 2016-2021 period.

Established in 1979 with 11 members, ASOSAI now has a totalof 46 SAIs. The State Audit Office of Vietnam became an ASOSAI member in 1997.
