Seoul (VNA) –
The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC)has recently held the 2020 ASEAN Youth Career Mentorship Programme in the formof a teleconference, where many questions regarding visa, labour market andemployment were cleared up.

First launched in 2017, the annual event aims to helpstudents from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) develop theircareers in the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Young people from ASEAN countries who graduated from RoKuniversities and are working in the country, and experts shared experience andprovided consultations in this regard.

According to AKC Secretary General Lee Hyuk, thenumber of ASEAN students in the RoK increased from 4.781 in 2010 to 64,200 lastyear, accounting for one third of foreign students in the country.

These students have played a significant role inpromoting partnerships between RoK companies and their ASEAN counterparts, andexpanding the operation of RoK firms in the ASEAN market, he stressed.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there are more jobopportunities for ASEAN youths in the East Asian nation, he said./.
