2014 National Skills Competition kicks off

The 2014 National Skills Competition kicked off on May 19 in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue with 41 examinees competing in two categories of cooking and restaurant services.
The 2014 National Skills Competition kicked off on May 19 in the centralprovince of Thua Thien-Hue with 41 examinees competing in twocategories of cooking and restaurant services.

The competitors, all under 22, are winners of local competitions held earlier nationwide.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism andthe Hue Tourism Vocational College, the biennial event aimsto honour young and skilled workforce, encouraging them to promote theircreativeness and sharpen their skills.

According toorganisers, winners of the competition, which will run until May 22,will be added to the national team. They will get further trainingbefore attending the 10th ASEAN Skills Competition later this year inVietnam and the 43 rd World Skill Competition to be held in 2015 inBrazil.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
