Hanoi (VNA) – The ninth meeting of the14th National Assembly Standing Committee concluded in Hanoi on April 22.

In her closing speech, NA Chairwoman Nguyen ThiKim Ngan asked law verification and making agencies to collect opinions of thelawmakers at this meeting on six draft bills before submitting them to thelegislature.

She requested the NA Committee for Legal Affairsand NA Secretary General to coordinate with relevant agencies to complete the2018 programme on law and ordinance and revise the 2017 programme.

The NA Standing Committee will announce inwriting the principles, contents and targets of the middle-term publicinvestment plan, she said.

The Government, the State Auditor General, andthe NA Committee for Finance and Budget will conduct a formal examination onthe State budget balance in 2015 before submitting to the NA Standing Committeeat the 10th session.

The NA Standing Committee proposed theGovernment entrust the NA Committee for Finance and Budget to make an officialinspection on the Government’s report on thrift practice and wastefulnessprevention in 2016 and report to the legislature.

The NA Committee for Science, Technology, andEnvironment was tasked to finalise a draft resolution on the supervision of implementationof policies and laws on food safety, while the Supreme People’s Court wasdirected to work with the NA Committee for Justice to complete the workingplacement project of the People’s Court.

Chairwoman Ngan said the NA Standing Committeeapproved the establishment of four wards in Sam Son town – which will bepromoted to Sam Son city in the north central coastal province of Thanh Hoa.

Deputies also ratified the appointment of 24Vietnamese ambassadors to work in some countries according to the Government’srecommendations, and adopted a draft joint resolution between the NA StandingCommittee, the Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committeeon social supervision and criticism.

Two ministers fielded questions at the Q&Apart to ease a number of public concern, Ngan said.

Lawmakers also gave their opinions on the draft Lawon amendments and supplements to some articles of the Law on credit organisationsand the draft resolution on handling bad debts.-VNA
