12th Party Central Committee’s ninth session opens

The 12th Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee convened its ninth session on December 25, under the chair of Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 12th Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) CentralCommittee convened its ninth session on December 25, under the chair of PartyGeneral Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

During the session,members of the Party Central Committee are expected to discuss the personnelplanning of the CPV Central Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure, and conduct avote of confidence on members of the Party Central Committee’s Politburo andSecretariat.

They will givecomments on a review report on the leadership and instruction of the Politburoand Secretariat in 2018.

The Party CentralCommittee will also consider and take disciplinary measures against officialsfollowing the Party’s regulations.

In his openingremarks, Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong stressed thatthe working agenda and duration of this session are short, but the issuesdebated and decided are very important.

He asked participantsto promote their responsibility to have thorough discussions and issue aresolution at the end of the session.-VNA
