Addressing the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, who is alsoChairwoman of the KOVA Awards Committee, highly valued the contributionsmade by the awardees to the country in the fields of scientificresearch, labour, production and study.
She expressed her hope that the prize winners will exert more efforts to further develop the country.
On this occasion, the committee also presented scholarships to 116 outstanding poor students.
Established in 2002, the awards are given to poor but brilliantstudents, people who actively involve in social, humanitarian andcharitable activities, as well as scientists whose research has beeneffectively applied into reality and contributed to socio-economicdevelopment.-VNA
